Launch draft · Prepared 2 October 2026. Final production data flow and launch terms must be confirmed before publication.

Rainly is developed by Keith Roseland-Barnes. The development build does not require a Rainly account and does not include advertising or third-party analytics.

Location and weather requests

You can search for a place or grant location permission. Your selected place name or coordinates are used to retrieve weather and search results. Forecast providers and image or map services receive ordinary network information, including IP address and requested content.

The current build requests weather directly from providers. A Google Cloud caching gateway is planned. Before that gateway is used in a public release, this policy will specify the request data it receives, the purpose of processing, log retention and deletion controls.

Calendars

Calendar integration is optional. With permission, Rainly reads upcoming events from calendars you select to display meetings and find free times. Rainly does not edit your calendar. Event details are used on your device and shared with Rainly’s widget through its private local App Group; they are not part of weather-provider requests.

Local preferences

Saved places, selected teams, units, forecast choices, outdoor activity history and caches are stored locally. Rainly and its widgets share preferences and forecast content through an on-device container.

Third-party services

Depending on the selected features, the build may request forecasts from Apple WeatherKit or Open-Meteo, radar and map imagery, location photographs from Wikimedia, and schedules or logos from sports services. These services apply their own privacy policies. See data sources for current source links.

Subscriptions

When Apple subscriptions are enabled, Apple handles payment information. Rainly will use purchase and entitlement information to provide subscribed features. Final subscription processing and retention details will be added before launch.

The website

This site uses locally hosted assets and no advertising or analytics scripts. Vercel hosts the site and may process technical request information needed to serve and secure it.

Beta requests and support email

If you email rainlyapp@gmail.com, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to reply, manage requested beta invitations and troubleshoot reported issues. These messages are processed through Gmail; invited testers also interact with Apple’s TestFlight service, which has its own privacy information. Emailing a beta request is not consent to marketing emails. Please avoid sending private calendar contents, passwords or precise home-location information. Contact us to request deletion of messages we control, subject to records we are legally required to keep. A specific retention schedule will be confirmed before public launch.

Your choices

You can change location and calendar permissions in your device settings, remove saved places and change preferences in Rainly. Uninstalling the app removes its local app data; operating-system backups and shared-widget storage may have separate retention behavior.
