Common questions
How do I add a widget?
On iPhone or iPad, touch and hold the Home Screen, open the widget gallery and search for Rainly. For the Lock Screen, open its customization controls and add a supported Rainly widget. On Mac, open Edit Widgets and search for Rainly.
My widget looks out of date.
Open Rainly, select the place you want and refresh the forecast. Check that the widget uses the same place, provider, temperature units and actual/feels-like preference. The operating system controls when widgets redraw.
How do I add my favourite sports teams?
In the app: open Customize Rainly → Sports teams, then choose Team 1 and optionally Team 2 from the NFL, NHL, NBA or MLB.
On iPhone or iPad: touch and hold the Rainly hourly or daily widget, choose Edit Widget, and set Sports team 1 and Sports team 2. Configure each widget separately.
On Mac: Control-click the Rainly widget, choose Edit Widget, and select the same two sports-team fields.
The app’s team choices and widget team choices are separate. A logo appears only when schedule data shows a game for that day. Hours ahead shows today’s game time; Days ahead marks game days with logos. No game means no logo. If a logo is missing, check the team settings, internet connection and whether the team has a scheduled game.
How do I choose calendars?
Open Customize Rainly, enable calendar access and select the calendars you want to use. Rainly reads upcoming events for your widgets and outdoor suggestions; it does not edit your events.
How do I manage an Apple subscription?
If you have subscribed through Apple, manage or cancel it through your Apple Account’s subscription settings. Current pricing and renewal information are shown in the purchase screen.
Why is radar or another weather layer unavailable?
Provider coverage and available details vary by region. An unavailable layer does not mean that there is no rain or no weather warning.
Be a Rainly beta tester.
Try an early version and tell us what works—and what could be better. Rainly’s iPhone and iPad beta is distributed through Apple’s TestFlight. Ask us about Mac beta availability too.
- Email us your device and operating system version.
- When a suitable build and tester space are available, we’ll send an invitation.
- Install TestFlight, accept your invitation, and share feedback from TestFlight.
This opens an email draft to rainlyapp@gmail.com. You choose whether to send it. A request does not automatically enrol you or guarantee an invitation. Beta builds may contain bugs, lose settings or expire; Apple’s TestFlight terms and the Rainly privacy policy apply. Please don’t include calendar titles, passwords or sensitive information.
